Organization's MISSION in the community:
St. Luke Community Clinic (SLCC) is a nonprofit, community-based organization of volunteers and staff committed to providing free medical care to low income, uninsured residents of Warren County. The clinic is a free clinic. The clinic's aim is to help build a healthier community by assisting county residents with making better use of the community's health care resources. The clinic assists people with managing their illnesses so that they can live healthier and more productive lives.
SERVICES provided in the community:
Services offered through the clinic include acute and chronic care, women's health care and medications. The clinic does not have specialty care, radiological services or laboratory services available within the clinic itself. The clinic is open Monday through Thursday. New clinic patients are registered at Thursday evening clinic and see a clinic physician for the first time that evening. Daytime hours are available for follow-up appointments, chronic care and acute care.
VOLUNTEER Opportunities:
Volunteers are an integral part of SLCC and are the reason for much of the work that is done to serve Front Royal and Warren County. Physicians and nurses volunteer their time to ensure care is offered to the community. The clinic depends on volunteers to help maintain medical records and data entry. Volunteers also help with the day-to-day workings of an office, i.e. answering telephones, filing. SLCC looks to volunteers for help with screening tasks to ensure that service is provided to residents who are eligible for clinic services.
SLCC seeks volunteers who are reliable, responsible, and care about their community. Maintaining patient confidentiality is a must. Contact Cher Kennedy, Volunteer Program Coordinator at (540) 636-4325 ext. 231 for more information.
