Organization's MISSION in the community:
To eliminate substandard housing while making a positive impact on the community.
SERVICES provided in the community:
- Build houses and provide opportunity for homeownership to families who otherwise cannot realize this dream - Families/individuals who qualify live in Winchester-Frederick County for at least one year; need to improve current housing situation; earn 30%-60% of the median income; and complete at least 250 hours of "sweat equity." Habitat for Humanity provides the mortgage at an affordable, no-interest loan. This can be done as construction of Habitat homes are made possible by donation of cash, donation of materials and services, and volunteer construction labor.
