Child Advocacy Network Inc. - Child Assault Prevention Project (CAPP) Minimize
Organization's MISSION in the community:

The Child Advocacy Network is dedicated to the promotion of the health and safety of children, the education of the community with impact on children's issues and the prevention of child abuse through the Child Assault Prevention Project (CAPP).

SERVICES in the community:

The Child Assualt Prevention Project (CAPP) is a community-based abuse prevention program that provides personal safety workshops for children in area elementary schools.  Through a series of scripted role-plays and guided discussion, children are taught to prevent and/or get help for any abuse, whether by peers, strangers or known adults.

VOLUNTEER opportunities:

CAPP needs men and women of diverse backgrounds with the ability to relate to children in an informal elementary classroom workshop.  This requires the completion of 24 hours of training and a background check.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license. Volunteers work in teams of three during school hours and give four to twenty hours a month depending on personal schedules.
